1864-1865 Riester essays with the COMPOSITE DIE PROOF OF BOTH DESIGNS in black, splitted and rejoined. Most scarce. Then, a group of 9 essays in different colors, the later two being in glaxed surface paper (pink & bright green). It continues with a group of 6 DIE PROOFS. The first three black on salmon, black on gray and balck on pale green on ordinary paper. Black on lilac on laid paper! Black on rose glazed surface paper & finally, the only black on yellowish CARD die proof. All Unused. Mixed quality, generally F,VF and almost impossible to duplicate.
