Bühler's reprint Matrix Die proof, The source for this forgery was the similitude in Buehler's 1955 book. That similitude was made by a metal die. The similitude in the book was reproduced either by a camera, a scanner or a copy machine. It was then sent to a rubber stamp maker who made the replica that made the forgery. The forgery is like the original, but there are differences. Rubber stamps bend which accounts for the curved edges. The original, made of metal, does not bend, and has straight edges. Rubber stamps tend to fall apart with use and age, which may account for the other anomalies.
